Job DescriptionJob Functions, Duties, Responsibilities and Position Qualifications:

  • Job Description*Responsible for supervision of department staff carrying out their daily job task. Provide support to the department supervisor and other staff within the Sonic Healthcare organization. Promotes quality sales/client relations by performing corrections in a timely and accurate manner. Respects an maintains confidentiality of information relative to the laboratory. Possess effective work habits and ability to build/maintain work relationships. Adheres to all company and departmental policies and regulations. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Consults with supervisor or director as needed. Operates general Accounts Receivable equipment, including, but not limited to: telephone, computer, keyboards, fax machine, copiers, and printers. Effectively communicates via written, verbal, and electronic methods. Ability to work under deadlines.Principal Responsibilities:
    • Auditing folders set up for the other follow up departments.
    • Managing the email set up for the sales staff questions.
    • Processing time sensitive work submitted by other Sonic employees.
    • Research and verifying NPIs prior to being submitted to initial billing for set up.
    • Provide backup for all department job functions as needed (ie.. printing/sorting of in coming work via electronic sales folders, email, fax, and standard mail).
    • Managing the teams Monday Stat report.
    • Log and report monthly stats.
    • Provide support with first of the month statements: address rejects and client specific pulls.
    • Assist in department calendars for employees.
    • Training new employees
    • Assist with 90 day and annual employee evaluations.
    • Educate team on procedural changes and department/company updates.
    • Assist in maintaining the department procedural manual.
    • Provide supervisor with supply order and distribute to the team once received.
    • Advise employees on issues as needed.
    • Set the example for team in all areas that relate to job functions and SHUSA's compliance polices and procedures.
    • Assume supervisory responsibilities when needed due to absence of supervisor.
    • Duties include but are not limited to the above mentioned responsibilities.Additional Company InformationRequired:
      • High School diploma or GED
      • Typing (min 55 wpm) and 10 KeyPreferred
        • 2 years medical billing experience with 1 year direct physician/medical office experience
        • Experience with medical/insurance protocols, claim filing, and reimbursement guidelines
        • Lab experience ( entry, technical/clinical)
        • Experience in multitasking environment
