Senior Development Accountant Location: San Antonio, TX Working Model: 100% In-Office Compensation: $75,000-$80,000 Our client is seeking a Senior Development Accountant to oversee financial operations for multiple real estate development projects. This role ensures accurate reporting, compliance with GAAP, and supports strategic decision-making through detailed financial analysis. Benefits & Perks: Competitive compensation with performance-based incentives Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Generous PTO, paid holidays, and sabbatical program Ongoing training and career development Meaningful, high-impact work in real estate development Role Responsibilities: Manage all accounting functions for multiple development projects Prepare and analyze construction draws and cost reports Track project budgets and monitor job costs (hard, soft, and financing) Perform bank reconciliations and prepare financial statements Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain internal controls Communicate financial data to investors, lenders, and partners Support property closings and manage associated financial documentation Provide forecasts, variance analysis, and insights for decision-making Requirements & Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate development Experience preparing construction draws and pay applications Strong understanding of job cost accounting and GAAP Proficiency in real estate accounting software (e.g., Yardi, RealPage) Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills Experience with general ledger, month-end and year-end close
