Job Description Job Description Sheet Metal Estimator (HVAC) Austin, TX Our client is a well-established mechanical contractor in the Austin market and is seeking a Sheet Metal Estimator to join their growing team. This is an entry-level to early-career estimating role , ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in HVAC estimating within a stable, employee-focused company. While sheet metal estimating experience is highly preferred , candidates with strong HVAC ductwork and sheet metal knowledge and exposure to plan & spec construction are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed HVAC sheet metal estimates from construction plans and specifications Perform quantity takeoffs for ductwork, fittings, and related materials Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents for scope and accuracy Collaborate with project managers, operations, and senior estimators Utilize Excel and estimating software to build accurate, competitive bids Assist with bid clarifications, scope reviews, and project handoffs Continuously develop estimating skills and construction knowledge Qualifications 1–5 years of HVAC estimating experience preferred Sheet metal estimating experience strongly preferred , but not required Solid understanding of HVAC sheet metal / duct systems Working knowledge of plan & spec construction projects Proficiency with Excel and general computer software Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn Motivated to build a long-term career in estimating On Screen Software experience preferred Nice-to-Have / Bonus Experience Estimating experience for laboratory or specialty exhaust systems Candidates with more experience will be considered if they bring lab exhaust or specialty HVAC estimating expertise Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation based on experience 100% employer-paid employee health insurance premiums High 401(k) match Stable workload and long-term career growth opportunity Supportive team environment with mentorship and training Location & Relocation Local Austin-area candidates preferred Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate This is an onsite position.
