SUMMARY: Accountable for the following responsibilities listed below. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Schedules, coordinates and executes the following for our customers: o Subjective Evaluation (Primary): • Noise and ride • Wet and dry handling • Off-road • Hydroplaning • Other specialized testing by request o Objective Evaluation (Secondary): • Pass by noise • Objective NVH measurement • Vehicle braking • Traction trailer testing and support o Engineering support including new test development • Ability to prioritize and manage time and resources effectively and in collaboration with engineering staff. • Ability to carry out assignments in a logical fashion using existing technology and standardized methods. • Provides quality data on time with a high level of customer service to meet product development deadlines. • Coordinates and participates in product demonstrations to tire dealers and the media. • Communicates with customers to understand their needs and convey results. • Reports results in an orderly and timely fashion. • Maintains driver certification and provides training to others. • Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% to 20% of the time. • Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor’s degree in science required; engineering is preferred. • Automotive industry experience is required. • Five (5) or more years of performance driving and tire testing/evaluation experience is required. • Understanding of automotive functions and vehicle dynamics relative to tire test performance is required. • Knowledge of data acquisition, vehicle instrumentation, standard tire evaluation techniques, and ratings including terminology is required.
