Operations Director assists the General Manager (GM) in creating a
scalable infrastructure and operations model for sustainable growth
through the creation and implementation of a strategic plan
leveraging corporate culture, methodology, and technology.
Operational functions will be carried out in accordance with
regulatory compliance, contemporary financial approaches and best
practices for manufacturing and customer service within the
industrial laundry business. The Operations Director works closely
with the General Manager, Chief Engineer, Customer Service and
Senior Leadership Team. The role is accountable to the GM and
manages the facility when the GM is not onsite.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIESo Gain a deep understanding of each customer being
served by understanding the items processed, delivery and
processing times, costs, and other special details.o Understand
processing efficiencies and how to maximize workflow trends day to
day and year over year based on hotel occupancy and
seasonal/historical information.o Contemplate and execute
operational initiatives through careful review of the entire
service process from pick up, process, to delivery.o Oversee
communications with customer service managers, corporate managers,
production managers and internal associates.o Know daily production
metrics and make necessary changes in staffing, work assignments,
schedule, and equipment to assure all goals are met.o Motivate,
recruit, develop and lead all managers and associates.o Responsible
for time and attendance management, performance reviews, and
conflict resolution.o Own the budget and be responsible for the
management of direct and indirect expenses.o Promote and maintain a
healthy, safe, and secure workplace environment in alliance with
Cooperative's engineering, maintenance, and HR teams.o Ensure all
equipment and facilities are maintained.o Other duties as
assigned.REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEo Minimum 5
years' experience in supply chain management, transport logistics
and/or manufacturing operations.o Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma,
Process Mapping, MS Office, P&L Experience and Root
Cause/Corrective Action Analysis preferred -o Bachelors or master's
in business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Business
Administration, Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or
Operations Management a Major plus.o Comfortable working in a
dynamic, fast paced changing environment.o Exceptional verbal and
written communication skills, especially as it pertains to tack and
diplomacy.o Strong problem solving and organizational skills.o
Ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office (Word,
Excel, PowerPoint) to analyze and communicate data and trends.o
Previous experience and a broad understanding of safety systems and
enforcement of safety rules and policies.o Bilingual (English and
Spanish) is a plus.WORKING CONDITIONSo Must be available for
rotating shift work - nights, weekends and holidays required as
needed. -o Ability to bend, crouch, reach, push/pull, stand for
long periods of time and lift 30 lbs.o All workstations are
climate-controlled.o Some future domestic travel may be required
for training and to future locationsREQUIRED COMPETENCIESAn
in-depth understanding of production, operations, and logistics, as
well as an exceptional sense of empathy and propriety to develop
and sustain favorable customer relationships.Must possess strong
interpersonal skills in person, via phone and digital
communications to lay the foundation for lasting-relationships, and
the pragmatic acumen to resolve production issues, logistical
delays, quality concerns, or personnel issues to a beneficial
resolutionSafety Oversight and Regulatory Compliance Understanding
of national, state, and local regulatory requirements and
reporting.
