The Security Manager is responsible for the safety and security of
the hotel. This person oversees the closed-circuit television,
perimeter walks, hazard inspections, duress alarms, life safety,
and key control systems. This person oversees
accident/investigations/incident reporting and works with local
authorities for emergency responses.
As Security Manager - Security is responsible for training and
developing the team of Security Officers. This person manages day
to day functions of the security department, including onboarding
and training of new team mates, maintains the protection of
property assets, colleagues, owners, and guests. This includes
maintaining logs, certifications, and documents required by law and
SOP. This role is involved supporting the operations with ongoing
service delivery and guest safety/satisfaction. This position is
highly visible and requires knowledge of hotel services, local
events and venues, and transportation options.
The Security Manager is a driver for the department and reports to
the Area Director of Security & Loss Prevention. In the Directors
absence; this person is a resource to the Hotel in matters relating
to Security & Safety, and Risk & Loss/Liability. This person will
typically work in collaboration with the Director to resolve
challenges, but must demonstrate an ability to work independently
as events may require. This person is an effective communicator and
ensures that information is being actioned as needed in a timely
manner. This person provides regular updates regarding Hotel
activities and situations that may cause disruption, and is a
comfortable public speaker in times of crisis.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the
following:
--- Reports accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; and
completes safety training and certifications.
--- Follows all company policies and procedures and maintains the
confidentiality of proprietary information and protects company
assets.
--- Stand, sit walk for an extended period.
--- Attention to customer service with a professional and pleasant
personality.
--- Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings,
weekends, and holidays.
--- Oversee safety standards to include quarterly Occupational
Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)/SAFETY audits, incident
tracking, and the hazard abatement process.
--- Develops detailed shutdown procedures for the property to
ensure that all areas are secured at the appropriate times.
--- Complies with applicable laws and safety regulations.
--- Follow proper key control guidelines in loss prevention and on
the property.
--- Maintains a monthly checklist for all CCTV equipment, alarmed
doors, and duress alarms to ensure that they are fully functional
and,
--- Incorporates into patrols, which encompass all areas of the
property's interior and exterior, an inspection tour of the
recording system.
--- Follows process for the protection of owners/guests and
associates.
--- Follows up on all unusual activities in and around the property
that would impair the well-being of owners/guests and
associates.
--- Implements action plans to monitor and control risk.
--- Manages all loss prevention operations to include but not
limited to patrol process, emergency response, investigations
(e.g., initial - follow-up) for all owner/guest and associate
related incidents, shipping and receiving process (makes
recommendations for improvement), electronic key system and manager
on duties responsibilities.
--- Manages and guides the efforts of the Safety Committee.
--- Manages first aid program.
--- Manages the claims process and protects company assets by
closely monitoring General Liability cases.
--- Communicates the importance of safety procedures.
--- Develops liaison with local law enforcement and emergency
services.
--- Effective communication with confidential matters.
--- Performs other duties, as assigned to meet business needs.

Qualifications:
--- Effective communicator in high-intensity scenarios
--- Effective in providing exceptional customer service
--- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
--- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
--- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and
administrative skills
--- Detail-oriented and organized
--- Must be able to support Hyatt's purpose by identifying
opportunities to display authentic human care to guests and
colleagues so they can be their best
--- Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people and
build relationships with the local community
--- 3 yrs of progressive hotel experience in a Security and/or Loss
Prevention role
--- Working knowledge of building Security, access control, and
fire alarm systems
