Job Description GQR Healthcare is seeking a local contract nurse
RN Behavioral Health for a local contract nursing job in Kerrville,
Texas. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Behavioral
Health - Discipline: RN - Start Date: ASAP - Duration: 26 weeks -
40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours, nights - Employment Type: Local
Contract Behavioral Health - RN - Nights Start Dates: 7/1, 7/16
Length: 26 weeks (6 months) Hours: 40 - 5 x 8's - 10:30p-7a Shift:
Nights - Every other weekend required - 10:30p-7a - Orientation
will be 4 weeks; M-F 8-5pm RTO: No requested time off will be
approved at this time (can be discussed) Floating: Agency will
float but primary need is for the maximum-security unit
Orientation: conducted Monday through Friday from 0800-1700, for
approximately one month Holidays: Must be willing to work 2/3 of
the major holidays. Please submit in order of importance which
holiday they prefer off Minimum Requirements: - Must have 2 years
RN experience - Psych experience is a must – experience working in
a maximum-security unit - Preferably 1 years nursing experience in
a behavioral health setting - Charge nurse or supervisory
experience is preferred - Must be licensed by the state of Texas or
a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure
Compact for appropriate discipline (RN or LVN/LPN) - Complete
immunization record, which meet HHSC requirements.? - Must be able
to successfully pass a urine drug screen and background checks -
Must have valid photo ID and current American Heart Association CPR
certification - Must have negative PPD results within last 12
months - COVID-19 testing with negative result required (we
provide) - COVID-19 Vaccination card if applicable - Must be able
to successfully pass a urine drug screen and background check (you
provide) - Must be able to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint
background check (we provide) Covid Requirement: Required Overview:
/nFacility size: 202-bed facility/nScrub Color Requirement: Navy
blue scrubs. Scrubs are required beginning on the first day of
orientation./nPPE: provided onsite/nParking: onsite/nPay Cycle:
Sunday-Saturday/nEMR: Pending/nCase types:/n/nBehavioral
Health/nPsych/nMaximum security/nIndividuals who have been
acquitted of a criminal offense and committed by the court to
receive inpatient mental health services/nInpatient psychiatric
hospital/n /n/nDuties of Agency Registered Nurse: Performs routine
nursing duties. Work involves providing for the assessment, care,
and treatment of individuals in a state hospital maximum security
unit. May train others. Works under moderate supervision, with
limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent
judgment. Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager III. The
Unit RN may assign nursing responsibilities to the Unit LVN in
accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. The responsibility of the
Unit RN is to provide for and supervise the professional nursing
care of the individuals who reside in a state hospital maximum
security unit. The Unit RN is available to unit personnel to make
nursing decisions on a 24-hour basis. She/he is a member of the
professional team and shares responsibility with other team members
for the development of the individual’s program. Work involves
communication skills, i.e. relaying information to other team
members, Primary Care Provider, nurses; data entry, documentation,
completing reports, maintaining personnel records, supervisory
duties, and following all facility rules/policies. Provide
treatment to HHS employees injured in course and scope of
