Gary Job Corps Center is seeking an energetic and driven HR Assistant to provide administrative and technical support to the Center s Human Resources function. Ensures strict confidentiality of sensitive information.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates of Arts degree from an accredited school or Human Resources Professional Certification preferred. One year human resources experience preferred. Computer literacy and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of applications required. Knowledge and experience of FMLA, ADA, and labor laws strongly preferred.Essential Duties:Lead the recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt employeesConsult with management to determine current and anticipated staffing needsWrite and update job descriptions as needed with management approvalGenerate job postings using various recruitment channels (social media, web sites, jobboards, radio ads, etc.)Coordinate job fairs and recruiting eventsReview submitted applicationsRespond to inquiries from prospective candidatesMonitor the scheduling and organize interviews with Hiring Managers for suitable candidatesCommunicate requirements and duties to prospective candidatesConduct job analysis surveys when creating new assessmentsExtend employment offers and secures employment referencesMaintain employee confidence by keeping human resource information confidentialExamine compensation, benefits, and local wage surveys to evaluate the employment market demandsEndorse change and recommends new approaches/policies based on compensation/hiring trends to the HR Manager and HR DirectorRepresent Gary JCC at networking or community eventsPlan and collaborate employee events with other employeesMaintain good relationships with all candidates and other employeesCarry out other duties and responsibilities as assignedAdams and Associates is a 100% employee-owned company that is deeply committed to the Job Corps program and the students we serve.
