Job Description:
Duties:
This position will ensure that laboratory specimens are correctly
entered in the LIS system, including all third-party billing
information. This position will follow up with any missing
information, contacting customers when needed in a timely
manner.
This position will also participate in the implementation of new
accessioning and reporting protocols using our current LIS
system.
This position will also on board new lab customers.
This position will implement in the current LIS system or through
any other system an inventory control process and proceed with
reagents and consumables ordering when needed.
Assist the team to develop electronic connectivity with customers
using standardized healthcare transfer protocols Translate
instrument and analytical data into quality metric reports and
written clinical reports Document and communicate identified issues
succinctly and in a timely fashion, escalating issues affecting
test and/or case counts.
Establish and maintain reliable, efficient, and effective methods
for communicating with involved partners via telephone and
email.
Collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Skills:
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in
writing with public health, laboratory, technical and healthcare
professionals and internal partners.
Knowledge and application of Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements and protection of health
information.
Prior knowledge and experience with Health Level 7 (HL7),
preferred.
Prior knowledge and experience in IT preferred with knowledge in
Visual Basic for Excel or similar.
High level analytical and problem-solving skills.
Complete assignments in a timely and efficient manner.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and work
independently.
Demonstrate reliability and integrity.
Fluency in spoken English is required.
Experience with clinical terminology and interpreting laboratory
testing results.
Experience in coordinating complex projects.
Knowledge of and skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products
including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint
