If you have significant consulting experience in the Diversified Energy Industry (i.e., traditional and/or renewable power sector, transmission and distribution, and/or oil and gas sector) and excel at building client relationships, commercial development, managing projects and teams, and contributing subject matter expertise to permit large capital projects, this position is for you. This opportunity is for a senior-level professional looking to advance their career with a global environmental leader and to make a significant impact in implementing ERM's global strategy.ERM works closely with energy companies at every stage of their business/asset life cycle to help them plan, develop, and operate both traditional and non-traditional assets. We are expanding our team to strengthen our ability to create and implement innovative solutions that translate into measurable business value for our clients. We seek an experienced professional to join as a key client-facing energy sector subject matter expert, ideally with pre-existing client relationships and a proven record of winning work within the energy market.This role focuses on providing technical and project management leadership in siting, permitting, and evaluating environmental impacts of energy projects, including oil and gas pipelines, low carbon development, solar, wind, energy storage, and transmission. The candidate will work independently and with project teams, managing priorities and multiple tasks to meet deadlines. The role also involves serving as a Project Manager on multi-disciplinary projects and focusing on the commercial development of ERM's business. There is potential for growth into Partner-track or Technical Director roles, depending on experience and interest.Responsibilities

  • Engage with clients to identify, target, and develop opportunities within ERM, collaborating with account managers and delivery teams to expand existing accounts.
  • Manage and perform multi-media permitting related to capital development projects, focusing on local, state, and federal permits, including compliance with agencies such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, FERC, and BOEM.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, writing, presentation, and impactful client communication skills.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients and partners.
  • Collaborate with ERM's North America leadership and client teams to contribute to proactive go-to-market strategies to drive commercial growth in the evolving energy landscape.Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years (preferably 10+) in consulting or the energy sector.
  • Experience with NEPA, FERC, or similar agencies is a plus.
  • Experience with ESHIA is a plus.
  • Recognized technical expertise and reputation in the Gulf Coast region.
  • Deep understanding of Power and Oil & Gas sectors and existing relationships for business development.
  • Desire to grow commercially.
  • Understanding of the energy regulatory environment and emerging issues.
  • Business acumen to identify risks and opportunities for clients.
  • Proven record of delivering sales targets.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Project management and leadership skills.
  • Experience in line management and team development.
